From the dream the work was born
Secular splendour
of modern luxury
It was in the 19th century that King D. Carlos I wished to see a luxury therapeutic spa built that would have international projection. The waters of the village of Vidago were already considered to be of national interest at the time. The perfect conditions were met to give life to what was a dream and, it was on the 6th October 1910, the year in which the First Portuguese Republic was established, that the Vidago Palace Hotel was inaugurated.

The sumptuous Vidago Palace is a luxury hotel, housed in a century-old palace in the heart of the Vidago Thermal Park, surrounded by mountains and forest, with an atmosphere full of glamour and elegance. Initially known for its thermal baths, due to the excellence of its waters, it is now a 5-star hotel that offers guests excellent service. A modern Spa, and a unique golf course, designed by the famous architect Philip Mackenzie Ross. The combination of a palace with excellent spa treatments and a challenging golf course, placed the Vidago Palace Hotel amongst the most prestigious European resorts in the period of the 2nd World War. As in an enchanted world, the Palace invites you to live unforgettable experiences, where the refinement and splendour of the spaces are marked by the charm and romanticism of the Belle Époque.
Inspiring nature
Vast and generous, the Natural Park presents a landscape typical of the beginning of the 20th century, which remains to this day. The groves, paths, trails and water mirrors invite visitors to stroll through the trees, which change colour according to the seasons.
The same refinement, as always
The interior design is the responsibility of Portuguese architects José Pedro Lopes Vieira and Diogo Rosa Lã.
The Spa and Club House were designed by the renowned architect Álvaro Siza Vieira.

Only one hour separates Porto from the uniqueness of a hotel like the
Vidago Palace and 15 minutes is the time needed to reach the historic city of Chaves. So close and so distinctive, as it always has been and always will be!
